Photographer’s Note
Sunset colours tint the white of these modern south facing apartments overlooking a lake in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning Province in NE China.
All around older blocks of apartments are being replaced with modern high rise.
WS shows a large commercial building being prepared to demolish shortly.

Hi Murray,
Cracking capture of the dream of modern China! The colours are nice and the reflection in the water is what makes the photo interesting for me. I'm currently living in China, and the thing that amazes me is how fast they can actually build these buildings. Opposite me is a new hospital, where there there used to be a large old building. They have managed to knock the old building down (largely by hand) and build a new 17 floor hospital (largely by hand) in less than 5 months. It opens in 2 weeks time. Incredible, and it's the same across all of China!
Nice photo and thanks for sharing

Hi Murray
Wonderful repetition & symmetrical reflections. Looks similar to housing in Daegu, Korea. Good sharpness & colour. Tfs!

Hi Murray,
The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The diagonal line of the river edge is a good addition to the compoition. The point of view os showing the details and colors of the architecture of the highrise buildings. The light brings out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Murray,
A fine repetition effect!
Great details in the architecture, and the buildings reflects well off the calm water in an attractive mirror effect...
A pleasant composition, good colours!

Hello Murray,
An unusual and compelling architectural photograph. Your photographic perspective on China has been an education for us, especially those of us who had seen the country in the past as I had. In 1983 there were very few high rises in Shanghai or Beijing, the pace of building and development has been overwhelming. How sad it was, however, for the earthquake to hit the nation with tens of thousand perishing.
Regards, and have a good weekend.

Really interesting photo showing these buildings; I don't think that it's a often object on TE. Very good colors and lighting!

Hello Murray!
This row of skyscraper-like residental houses reminds me about Moscow.
But I don't like Moscow, although this picture is very nice. These huge residental homes remind about what a small role has one person or even one family in a huge megapolis..
Kind regards, Igor
