[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The blue skies make this winter scene in Shenyang more bearable. The high temperature for the day is minus 10 degrees. Fortunately no wind to provide the dreaded wind chill factor. In the summer this lake is full of peddle pushed boats and winter after the lake freezes the ice skate come out.

Hi Murray,

Another beautiful sight from China. This particular ice skating area has provided a lot of inspiration for you. I think to make this shot better, a wider view incorporating the entire oval would have helped, but I am not sure about the surrounds so it was probable that this was not possible. I like the colour variety derived from all the flag markers. The sky is very different from the Aussie skies - it seems paler and less intense (although it's summer here and winter there makes a difference I am sure). There is good atmosphere here. Well done, enjoy your week.

Matt

Hi Murray,

A nice image off the frozen lake which is used as a skating rink during the winter season. The blue sky in winter usually means cold weather, same in Canada during the cold season. The point of view is giving depth to the photo. It is clear and precise. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Hi Murray
Interesting vision on the winter in China. You get a nice perspective on the lake.
Beautifull picture

Very sharp shot of this rink in Shenyang Murray. It looks to me like the people here are taking their sport very seriously. Colour's good. Those two buildings on the left tend to dominate maybe. I might be tempted to crop them off and turn this into a panorama to focus more on the rink itself.

Thanks, John

Hi Murray

-8c & snow here in Korea today, so I can appreciate the coldness in this shot. Good sharpness, with superb shadow detail & attractive, muted colours. Tfs!

It's a new POV on the same spot as it was several photos ago; quite a new photo resulted. Vast space and prominent highrises creates quite moern, well not cozy landscape.

Hello Friend, thank you for allowing me to visit my gallery and hear yours.

This photo has a lot of lighting at the top, but noted a lot of good sharpness and contrast at the bottom.

Great depth of field, good detail and a perfect balance in the frame. Greetings from Colombia

John

Bonjour, cher Murray,
Une image étonnante avec cette piste de glace extérieure érigée pour les patineurs des habitants de ces grandes tours environnantes.
Merci, Murray, de nous faire partager cette image insolite.
Amitiés.
Philippe

Hello Murray,

When I see this ice and skaters than I get a lot itch for also the skate, but through my age is this almost impossible.
Very lovely sky line with the great skyscrapers but the ice piste is the great eye catcher for my.
Very wel composition and presentation.
Thanks for sahring.

Best regards,
John.

Hi Murray, A lovely view across this ice rink, the scene looks cold & adds to the effect, crisp lighting & the focus is sharp, the flags give superb colours, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Murray.
It doesn't look minus 10. I thought it was summer shot. Even on this cloudless day, the Chinese haze is evident. I'm trying to imagine the paddle boats, but I just can't. Apart from the cutting off of the lake corner on the left, it's a good panoramic shot with the buildings providing an imposing background and the skaters the flashes of colour and life.
I found when in the USSR many winters ago that if there was no wind, minus 12 or 15 was quite bearable if you had a warm parka.
All the best for now,
Andrew

Hello Murray!
Thanks for this vivid illustration of Chinese town life. The architecture does not show substantial differences from the communist time architecture in other ex-communist countries.
Greetings and best wishes for the coming weekend!
Anton

Hi Murray,
Thanks for sharing this picture. Shenyang, a cold and dusty corner of China. I like how you have captured this one, I know how cold it is and keeping the fingers and batteries warm is a nightmare (Harbin even worse). Most intersting to me is the dirt in the foreground on the ice itself, this shows Shenyang in it's true form.
TFS!
Etienne
