Photographer’s Note
When the top temperature for the day is still minus 10 degrees celcius then it seems a good idea to move around. This group of senior citizen men gather in a sunny patch in the park and do these tai-chi type movements in their heavy clothing. It is possible they live in small apartments and take any opportunity on the weekend to get and and mix with their friends in the park. Good for their health i suspect, although quite a few people here seem to smoke a lot.

Hi Murray. Amusing shot in a way- they look like large garden statuary. Good on them, keeping supple, although I do concur with you about the smoking.Nice moment- I presume you didn't need to increase your ISO for this one. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Murray, this is an interesting daily life shot. The lighting was with you on this one giving you lots of light with great shadows. You have good sharp clarity throughout.
Thanks, John
Talk about deja vu. I clicked the useful circle on the note, and my critique disappeared. Had to retype.

It is amazing how the cold weather does not deter older people to come out and exercise. I believe it is a cultural thing as I can not imagine the same in Sydney or in Europe. Well done.

High! Fascinating shot, without explanation it's hard to understand what's going on here. Tai-chi, well. It explains it.

Hello Murray
I was wondering what are they searching for, but understood these men are doing exercises to get warmer. Maybe they do practise Tai chi chuan. A good framing on the subjects with fine luminosity.
Cheers

Hi Murray,
It must be difficult to do exercises outside and dress for the cold which is imparing the movement. You caught them at the right time. the point of view is giving depth to the photo. Well done, have a nice day.

Privet, Murray,
I have been seeing the same in Beijing in november (and in the movie Tokio-Ga in Japan). An amuse picture for western mind, IMHO.

Hi Murray, I love this shot, it’s a great image of every day life in China &, really shows that every day is the operative word, wonderfully captured & TFS, this brings back some memories, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Murray
Lol! I stay indoors, until it rises above 0c. A good daily life scene. There were chaotic scenes in Chbina this week due to heavy snow. Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuhan eg. Looks like you got out just in time! Tfs!

Hello Murray,
Good to see people out and about being active despite the very cold conditions. I like how the light is streaking here from the side, causing patterns to cross between all of the subjects. Interesting to see everyone independently moving, not everyone is in the same pose as one might expect to see. I might have moved the viewfinder a little to the right to fully include the person who is partially cut, but on the whole it is a great scene. Well seen and executed.
Matt
