I saw an astounding world through this fire, which was coming from a censer inside a temple. To me, this image represents a world of ignorance, a world of suffering, and a world of truth.
The ignorance comes from people hurting themselves without knowing it, like the man on the side who is smoking. The suffering and truth I see here never appears on people's faces , yet both burn in their their hearts, as hot as this intense fire. It is this pain, the feeling of burning, that is the moment of truth!

Great, great shot Jennifer!
the fire is perfectly captured with all that red and orange tones, the people above the fire is very well captured too.
there is also a good light.
thanks also for the note.

A very clever composition with interesting juxtaposition of people and fire
Great warm tones

This one does not work as much as I would like it to. I see no pain, hurt or suffering on their faces (quite the opposite...the guy looks like he is enjoying his cigarette...sucking deeply at the stub to get the most out of it). And the two women look more bored than anything else. Anyway, I do like the idea of shooting through fire...will have to try this way of composing a shot myself. Good idea, but needs a bit more work to get your point across.

Absolutely wonderful! I really love the intense colours and the distortions that the heat from the fire causes to the faces of the people in the frame.
Personally I would see something different in the image than you do, but a really good photograph should do exactly that.
Really well done.

i love the idea of this shot.. the fire cleanses the mind and reveals what is really there, a burning truth. the truth is, the two women are cold and bored, and the man wants to have a cigarette. it speaks of the monotony of life and the dangers of reading more into it, than is actually there. the flames' colours are awesome. well done!
