One of the attractions in China, the Harbin Ice Festival, attracts plenty of people from all over the world. But besides (and compared with) the tacky electric ice sculptures, the snow sculptures are fantastic, and show again what are they good at: big things :), but delicate as well, with pedantic attention to details.
An example here, but trying to capture also the temperature (-30C), with white & red, and people wearing plenty of layers.
I hope you like it. |

Hello Lucian,
You have shared with us an astonishing, exotic place — an ephemeral, but beautiful work of art. That temperature, -30° C corresponds to -22° Fahrenheit. The American Army has a rule of thumb for Alaskan winters. It is called the "30-30-30 Rule," and explains that, in -30° F, and a wind of 30 nots (56 km/hr) wind, human flesh freezes in 30 seconds. "Warm regards," and thanks for letting us all enjoy this remarkable place vicariously,
Bulent
Hello Lucian,
A very interesting, peculiar and beautiful picture, perfectly composed. Just knowing it's minus 30 makes me admire your artistic skills even more.
Very well done,
Gert
