Harbin Ice Festival Photo

Photographer’s Note

The Harbin Snow and Ice Festival (so called because it features lots of snow and ice) is held each year in the Manchurian city of Harbin from January to February.

It's very, very cold, around -18C during the day and -25C at night. This is the large ice park a short trip from the downtown area which features buildings made of solid ice.

Despite the cold weather, some people were still walking around in their underpants.

beautiful colors and great details! (maybe just a bit too much black sky). looks like a magical place. i love winter festivals, the cold temperatures can be quite bearable as long as it's dry, not windy and there's sunshine during the day. (not sure if that's the case in harbin) tfs!

Josh, lovely colors !! Just the right amount.. Very nice hues here.. really. I was about to suggest you to crop a part of the night sky at the top, but on second look, it looks good in here.. giving us a better feel of the park. Cheers.
