Photographer’s Note

Walking to the local restaurant in the small coal mining town of Heibaoshan, I saw these two girls walking towards me. I pointed at my camera to get their permission to take their photo and they burst into laughter. I took a quick single shot to capture the moment and then adjusted to get better framing, and for the first time - my camera jammed.

By the time I had cleared it they had run off, and I could still hear them laughing as they ran.

Hello Malcolm,
This is a beautiful, candid moment. The joy of these two girls is bursting out of the photo...I can almost hear them laughing myself. You captured one of those small bits of magic that surround us every day...if we only have our eyes and ears open to catch them. :-)
