This photo was taken in a park just down the street from our hotel in the center of Beijing. I thought it would be an effective photograph even before I took it but the original needed a little Photoshop help so here it is. Colors are more saturated, a couple of distracting people were removed (all you could see were heads crossing the bridge) and some enhanced contrast was used to help the photo along.
Taken only two years ago when I was still shooting film, I was a little leary of dropping off my film in the little lab down the street in Beijing but was pleasantly surprised by the quality and care the people there exercised and the price could not be beaten. About $3 per roll of 36 processed and printed!

This is a really cool composition. It is too bad about the backlighting, but the composition is worthit.

Hi Gregory, welcome to TE. You did a very good start with all of your pictures and I hope to see many other picutres with that quality.
Now to this picture itself. The scanning process obviously made some damage, but the composition sticks out and makes it a quite unique shot. The forground seems to be a little bit to dominant and could be corrected by small cropping it away. The curve would still be there and that is important beacuse it makes a huge contribution to the composition.
Best Regards, Peter

A very interesting pov to create depth and a kind of harmony with these curves. The reflection adds more effect. Well seen.

Great lines drawing your eye from the front right into the photo, it makes and excellent composition. Reflections are also nice.

Indeed a nice curvy scene. I like the empty place and the compo and POV and colours.

Très belle photo, vraiement bien vu ces enchainements de courbes.
Mais les couleurs sont un peu trop saturées a mon gout.

A lovely and gentle composition....I especially like the effect of a magic portal given by the bridge and its reflection in the still water. The mist in the background adds to the effect.

Very good compo and framing. Perfect spot for the stone tiles to leave the frame. With the sharp reflection and good depth this is excellent. Nice PP work. I enjoy this. BTW, welcome to TE - I look forward to seeing more of your pics :)

Fabulous reflections here, and although the sky is somewhat overexposed, it is not a major problem. I love the composition, especially the ledge leading all the way down to the foreground, but without being misplaced into the corner. Nice work.

Excellent composition! The curve line leads the viewer eyes to the POI-the bridge. The beautiful reflection is an extra point.

Beautiful atmosphere, a place to collect one's thoughts away from the rat race. Timeless scene, reminds me of the China of old. Best wishes. Klaudio.

I like the reflection of the bridge on the water gives the effect of it being a tunnel - the colours & lighting are very good - & the POV is Excellent.
