About the title:
All over the world, my idea, these three letters XXX means :
For adults only
Forbidden to minors
Take care with the content
Opsssss….. Snakes and longhorn beetles on sticks
A different culture (probably the older one) and quite another taste for food
They, as Mexicans, like insects in all forms and shapes, here is an example of the way they are offered, clean, ordered, in sticks and with a touch of color and elegance given by the orange star
It proves the well-known theory that the best place to learn about people, their tastes, preferred food, etc, etc is to visit the markets
NOTE: I know the image is a bit blurred but I saw and take it from far ,watching the screen also from far because, not beeen Kafka,I don t like to have a near view of insects

A very graphical shot using 4 different food objects.
The seastar makes it a cheerful photo with its vivid color.

I think I will pass and go to Macdonalds instead... again. One place in Guangzhou, Qingping Market, had live scorpions being handled with chopsticks and dipped straight into a barbecuing hot dish of oil. Yum! Food with bite lol. Reasonable sharpness here with effective tight framing and excellent colour. Tfs!

Good morning Maria,
I know right away I'd have nothing to eat if ever I visit this place.
Not looked twice, I just remember seeing people eating such stuff when we were in HK, and taken ourselves right away to McDonalds...
Nice shown, after my breakfast.

I have heard it said that one day, insects will feed the world, and to be honest it doesnt look too bad here. Admittedly, if I didnt know what they were I would probably try them quicker, but nonetheless, we are looking at the possible future here!
You know, when I looked at the thumbnail on this, I thought we were looking up at tall buildings and that somebody had thrown a starfish up into the air :)

The first thing I did after arriving in Guangzhou (Canton) was to have dinner at the famous Snake restaurant. I had a decent meal but not very exciting. Sliced snake with mushrooms tasted abut the same as sliced chicken with mushrooms. The orange star brightens the picture considerably. I wonder what it tastes like.

Bonjour chère Maria
Un sujet très intéressant et insolite
Je ne connais pas de restaurants en France qui servent ces mets
As tu goûté du Serpent ?

this is a documentary shot for me, I'm trying to stay emotionally detached:) The starfish is an attractive element that brings in colour and light but in this context it becomes ominous too:) I'm trying to think of the content of the photo as lines and repetitive elements of a composition. I think that maybe your hand was shaking a little bit too:) Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

Hola cher Maria,
Had you not mentioned it in your note, I wouldn't have considered the "XXX"...but now....well, you know...what can I say?!! :))
Hmmm, where to begin here,,,how about nowhere! jaja O.K., you know I'm pretty plain when it comes to food...but seriously, would you eat this? I judge not, to each their own....but no thanks, I'll pass!
As always though, it's a treat to see different and varying aspects about another culture and their habits, this one of course pertaining to the food genre. So very interesting to these Western eyes of mine. Thanks for showing the world in fun and learned ways. I will now go and eat my turkey for Thanksgiving. :)
Take it easy. All my best wishes,

acá en brasil algunas personas tienen algun costumbre de comer carnes como de culebra o un tipo de hormiga.
me gusta mucho los colores y padrones criados acá. la imagen no está muy definida, pero me gustan los detalles.
