Photographer's Note

As the Olympics approached - this photo was taken 6 days before the opening, Beijing managed to produce a clear blue sky day. This image is from a walk way near the Forbidden City and leads to the main gate entrance. The water here flows past that entrance. This area was enhanced but has served as a walkway for more than two dynasties - the Ming and Ching periods. Being this close to the Forbidden City, only select people could walk this way durring those periods. Today it is open to all.
