Yunnan — another half face

The destination of my first trip to China in June 2004 was Beijing. While there, I was paralyzed as I met a young Chinese girl and have been informed that she is a Yunnan resident. What I found on her face was what I cannot tell. Standing in front of her face, uncovered, but I got the strong feeling that I could not interpret a charm of a human being that represents the beauty of a remote province. Straight to her full face but I wasn’t sure if I saw the other half face.

I told myself I will come to see the beauty of her original province. It's a shame: I could only return to China eight months later. This photo — that has been shot during the first trip — to be posted here within the story of second trip as an attempt to explain a mystic reason.

The result was not weird. I landed Yunnan and was happy that I did. Yunnan means an international intersection for South East Asia. Yunnan is the wild and hidden beauty. Yunnan is Yuanyang terraced fields that strech endlessly. Words are useless here. For that, I am closing on a return to this destination…

My photos and my notes are not professional enough to describe what I saw. I hope some of you will have the idea to spend a trip before this natural scene and location change their face after multi-step industrial conversion. I also hope that you won't blame me for the other face being covered.

Sincerely,

Thanh
