Having lived and studied ... as well as held a Vice President's position at a leading Chinese university, I was so very fortunate to travel throughout China. I had photographed thousands of works (early digital and more recent ones) ... but only recently have I reviewed them for submission to TE. I have been doing Europe these past months, and I am not sure if Chinese photos have as much interest here. So I plan to post some ... or parts of China not often seen by outsiders.
Tourists get a good chance to see the Great Wall. It is almost always part of the wall that has been reconstructed, gaining a look of completeness and ... looks nice.
I wanted to see the wall ... as it really is. Worn down and in disrepair. This view is of the real wall. It is slowly being absorbed by the environment and returning to a more natural reclaimed state.
This is part of the Great Wall of China and I think it is wonderful as it is.

Hi David ,
Nice to see a photograph from this part of the world and a view of the Great Wall that we in the western world would not see that often. This is a good example of how nature reclaims the land through time. Good POV colour lighting and sharpness culminating in a very nice presentation.
