Photographer’s Note
One of the 7 wonders of the modern world, the Great Wall of China at Badaling. At right can be seen part of the monorail to get 200 feet elevation up to the base of the Wall. I was just happy to have a blue sky after it rained on my first attempt.
"Badaling (simplified Chinese: 八达岭; traditional Chinese: 八達嶺; pinyin: Bādálǐng) is the site of the most visited section of the Great Wall of China, approximately 50 miles (80 km) northwest of Beijing city in Yanqing County, which is within the Beijing municipality. The portion of the wall running through the site was built during the Ming Dynasty, along with a military outpost reflecting the location's strategic importance. The highest point of Badaling is Beibalou (traditional Chinese: 北八樓), approximately 0.63 miles (1,015 m) above sea level."

Hello Chris,
The blue sky sets off the wall to good effect. I like the point of view, which offers some foreground interest as well as a good perspective along the wall proper. Good colours and sharpness.

Hello Chris,
What a wonderful magnificent historical architecture picture ! The Great Wall looks great against the deep blue sky and green-colored mountains. I think it is especially good.

Hello Chris,
You had wonderful light in shooting the view, which I saw in 1983. The segment of the Great Wall at Badelung Pass is probably the best known of the surviving parts of the wall. that monorail did not exist in 1983. I like this expansive shot.
Warm regards,

Hello Chris,
superbes couleurs ici.

Excellent document monCher Ami

Namaste Chris
Not an usual picture of the great wall. there seems to be quite a difference in elevation where you were standing & going forawrd. Were there stairs or a gentle slope. I heard froma friend who's just been there that there's a section where you feel vertigo just walking up the slope & tourists grab the railings as a result!

Hi Chris,
The sinous line of the Wall is an asset to the composition. It is well framed by the trees and vegetation. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the structure of the Wall. It is alos leading our eys toward the mountains in the background which is giving depth and perspective to the photo. The quality of the light is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.
Pierre
