Photographer’s Note
Old lady in China like to sit outside and gossip together until the night falls. I found them in old area of Shanghai enjoying the warm weather. I decide to convert the photo into black and white to give more old time feeling to this. For me such scene could be photographed many years ago. In some place in China it seems that time had stopped.

Godo shot Rosie, I really like this one. The black and white conversion is good and because it is B&W, the blown out areas don't detract, where they would had it been in color. Very good placement of the women and some excellent repeating diagonal lines too. Really good I think.

I've been discussing how I can get better at portraiting people, with Gringofil and Sohrab, and you are a great way to get inspiration. This one is like the others excelent, you are really good at spotting these scenes, and making them look so natural.

Rosie, this is a very good picture. What stands out here is the POV. It is as if you're a part of their activity.

Yes, you really did manage to create an "old time" feeling in this photo. I like your composition and where you placed the two women in the frame. The photo works very well in black and white.

Hi Rosie, Already saw this one come by this morning, had no time to rate it. I think it's a real great picture, like Manny says, your POV is very good, you give us the same view as the ladies have, and your crop is great, they have lots of space (to throw their gossip around) in front of them. I also like the grey colors very much, good choice, And as for your notes, gossiping is the same the world over, I think. You've got a great eye for nice pictures, and this is a favourite for me. Well done and thanks!

Very nice photograph Rosie: I like the way they look at the road. Our attention is drawned by that movement and we also search in that way which makes us plounge into the frame. very well done.

A good photo of daily life, I like how the shadow and sunlit areas are split. I like the details on the sidewalk.
