Photographer’s Note
These taps with tin cups and padlocks struck me while travelling in China. The community all share the common water source but obviously don't have piped water to each home. After this picture was taken some people came with their toothbrushes and cleaned their teeth. Our guide suggested that we not take photos of this. I have another version which is cropped more tightly but was not sure which worked best. I am thinking that showing the starkness of the building and the location of the bathroom wall gives the viewer a better idea of how these people live.
Opinions on cropping welcome.

Hello Sue,
This is an interesting daily life scene. I have seen communal water sources before, but not with padlocks like this one. The mural behind it is a strange contrast to the scene. Thanks for sharing this.
