another rainbow, a photo from Shanghai, East

Photographer's Note

i dont know what festival is that, but one day i enter shanghai old city area, it was fully decoreted by these colorful paper umbrellas.

this old area is one of the comercial centre in shanghai, but mainly for touristic goods. and everytime happens the chinese festivals, u will have many traditional chinese elements there.

for example this paper umbrella is used in south east of china, usually the girls use it to pretect them from the sun.

ps.white skin is a sign of beauty in China

This photo was scanned, like actually many of mine, what reduces teh quality...

The composition and colours are really good, the unbrellas work so well against the old wooden building. The only unfortunate element in the frame is the blown out (probably overcast) sky in the background-- a blue sky would have rounded the shot off nicely. But, I cannot blame the weather on you... ;)

Gostei desta composição, Ricardo. Muito colorida com aquela sequência de guarda-chuvas contrastando muito bem com a cor do edifício atrás. Penso também que poderias ter cortado a parte do céu, obtendo ainda assim uma bela foto.

i went to there on 27th August,maybe not for any festival but decorated only,or as u said,protect girls from the big sun:)
i like yours:the umbrella seemed lighter and transparent ,some soften gave a nice effects...

Very beautiful. I have a weakness for these traditiuonal kinds of scenes, and although these arent lantern which I love, they are close enough. The colors are very good, sharpness is fine, you get these great umbrellas and still manage a nice shot of the temple with nice detailing. Good photo here.
