Photographer’s Note
Update: 06-13-09 I have reposted with a more recent and much better scan: better color and density distribution thanks to improved hardware and techniques.
Original note: A very hot and drippy evening. The intermittent rain showers had left a sheen of moisture on the pavements. I had to allow my camera to temper before shooting because the residual chill of my nearby hotel room made my lenses (and film?) fog when they hit outside air. Hua Hai Lu is a major shopping street in Shanghai and a great place for people-watching. But the crowded sidewalks make tripod placement difficult.
