Photographer’s Note
Shadows on the wall. A nightwalk in Shanghai's Hongkou district. A quiet moment.
Big Chinese cities have rarely been accused of excessive beauty. The forests of concrete housing, the flow of traffic, the dirty streets - all add up to a very special and often charming atmosphere. But I often find it difficult to really see that as aestethically beautiful. However, in the small corners and the daily flow of streetlife are always a potential of an aestethically beatiful moment.
Here, I tried to catch one, as the reflections of the trees along a small river were cast upon an old wall due to the streetlight. Hope you can see the beauty in it as well.
