Wuxi Railway Canal Reflections, a photo from Jiangsu, East

Photographer's Note

What I thought was another covered bridge in the bg, is only an unmarked Chinese style building, but it still has nice reflections. At left is the Shunheyuan Hotel and a moored boat. I tried google maps & panoramia but the photos pinned there are in the wrong locations. This is a short walk from the main train station, and taken from the main road bridge on Gong Yun Lu (Street), leading into the cbd & looking north.

Hi Chris,

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The distance between the boat and the station is giving depth to the scene. The ppoint of view is showing the details and colors of the lighted station. Using a slow shutter speed and of probably of a support have special effect on the colors. Well done, have a nice day.

Your night photographs of China paint a picture of perpetual light and vivid colours, like we have in Blackpool for just one season! It is beautiful! I like how your composition uses the l/h guide into the shot, before turning at a right angle to really wow us with that full-on light fantasy! Excellent!

When I see a photo such as this one in the small thumbnail gallery, its unmistakingly yours!
it works so well because of the dark blacks that surround the scene.
vibrant and eye striking, its obvious why this one works visually.

What can I say about this photo, what you have captured is the mood of this place and not the landscape. I can only imagin standing here and taking it all in. Love how the reflection in the water really enhances the romantic oriental atmosphere.

The symmetry of the image & the reflections in the canal water has been captured well. Quite a palette of colours you showed here, including the streaks of blue in the FG. Tack sharp despite the long exposure...well done!
