Photographer's Note

A nocturnal shot of one of the 55 bridges in Tongli, a picturesque canal town situated just 11 miles south of Suzhou. The mood here late evening, early morning is completely different to that when the large tour crowds from Shanghai are going through. It's still nowhere near as crowded as some of the other water towns though.

This is very picturesque with beautiful colors and reflections. Nice formation of ellipses here. The view is very beautiful beyond the bridge. Lovely colors, sharpness and depth.

Hi Chris,

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the lighted bridge. The slow shutter speed and probably of a support are showing the details and colors if the scene and are bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Chris,

I have loved your bridges series and am completely amazed by the colours and the lights that are displayed. Is this a 'Blackpool' type celebration, for one season of the year, or are the lights a regular feature?
Lovely, colourful details and reflections; so vivid, that it is difficult to decide where the reality ends and the reflection begins.
Good leads and converging lines to guide the viewer into the shot.

I was just about to say, this town is very fond of the arch bridge. And having read your note, it now confirms that. This really is a little Venice of Asia. Excellent exposition, colours and sharpness. The reflections are superb.

A fine night shot with perfect symmetrical reflection & the light looks great in the arches. Exposure is just perfect!
