A traditional garden in Tongli, constructed between 1885 and 1885.

In ancient China, ladies were soppused to stay inside the house. Was it the reason to have golden fish pond in tradition Chinese house complexes? Feeding and watching fish might give great pleasure, and kill the loniness.

Nice image that brings out the essence of Chinese sense of aesthetics intricately interwoven with the element of spirituality.
A place where one could meditate for hours, I feel.
