Photographer's Note

I never even knew that Nanjing had any canals so it was a very pleasant surprise to find some. I liked the x shape & reflections here. Taken near the Fuzi (Confucian) Temple in southern Nanjing (south capital.)

Plenty of vivid colors this photo is very agrable to see..
Good exposure, where you got the right ligth to show almost everything important in the image..

For these picture must one use a tripod, enlightenment of the buildings is fantastic
Also a lovely depth and perspective.

HI Chris,

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The length of the canal is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the row of illuminated buildings. Using probably a tripod and a shutter speed of 30 seconds have a special effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

A lovely night shot, the lights dance amongst the pure blackness. It reminds me of Melaka in Malaysia, and makes me want to check out this place some day...

looking at this i feel as if i'm back in Las Vegas on the strip!
it has that late night feel to it especially with all the neon lights.
its great that most of the lights aren't burnt out or over blown in exposure, and thats with the 30sec shutter!
the blackness gives such a strong contrast.

Hi Chris,
I love night shots, even more so because I simply cannot take them, and I enjoy seeing other peoples talents in this area. This is so vivid and the colours are so inviting. Its almost like Bladerunner on a canal.
