While browsing thru my achieve photos, I found this shot done 7 years ago while searching for my ancestral home in one of the remote villages located deep inside Fujian Province of southern China.
All I had then was a Fujifilm FinePix4800 point-and-shoot camera, and this shot was taken from within the chartered van. In a typical village such as this one, most of the dwellings are made from reinforced clay(walls), round logs(columns) and terra-cotta(roof). Life is still very simple and basic, depending mainly on agriculture. During my visit, I was suprised to witness poultry and pigs wondering into the living room. It was not uncommon to see chicken droppings even on the dining table when we got up in the morning. Many in these kind of villages were living well below the poverty line. They may not have much cash but what they certainly have is the clean fresh air compared to the affluent city dwellers. These conditions may have changed today to some extent, I hope.
Thanks for viewing.

Hello Alfred. Valuable shot inside your shoebox and thanks for sharing this in TE. You did well in searching your ancestor and the image is so well captured with the backdrop of the hill and spotless blue sky. Pleasant light and good detail exposure of the shot. Well done and best regards. Jusni
Hello Alfred, You have done well digging this shot up, not only is it a beautiful shot but it also gives us the opportunity to share with you,in a small way, the experience & joy you must have had in returning to your ancestral home. Nice note, thanks

Hey Alfred,
A beautiful demonstration/reporter shot. I automatically thought that it`s another shot of Malaysia, and I was trying to convince myself that Malaysia looks a bit different, I picture it more rainforest-y. :) Then I realized it`s a picture of China, ha. Anyway, an informative note and a finely composed photo.

Hi ALfred,
beauty view of the chinese countryside, it's a little strange for me to view the clear colours of the houses, because I'm used to see the houses builded by grey blocks.
See you, bye,
Davide
