Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken in the city of Chongwu in Fujian Province, China. Located along the eastern coast of China, this fortress city has high stone walls that used to protect them from pirates and other invaders hundreds of years ago.
Today, this huge park houses a few hundred stone sculptures and is popular as a beach destination among groups of families and students as a day excursion.
This little old lady, however, was a picture of contrariety...
The reason for taking this photo, was because I was struck by this old lady's bright red head scarf, contrasted against the grey of her clothes and the green of the surrounding shrubs and trees.
My RP comment : I cropped the photo to just focus on her instead of the winding path so it seems just that bit more introspective.

Hello Cheryl,
I remember seeing the original version, and I think the cropping makes the photo more powerful. The colors are nice, and I like the woman's posture.
