[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Quanzhou is a rapidly developing city in the Fujian Province and also my wife's hometown. All the streets in the centre of the city, look like this one. They have given a lot of thought to urban planning.

The top three floors of the buildings are residential and provide overhead cover for the shops lining the streets. What I really like is the great cycle lanes - between the grey pillars and the green fence. You will also note that one of the signs indicates 'no blowing horns'. So if someone cuts you off, you have to shake your finger in an angry fashion!

This photo was taken through the window of a moving coach, so sorry for the quality. I scanned, resized, sharpened and reduced the brightness.

Nice Picture ! But that does not look like the China I know. Where is the mess ? Where is the dust ? (Don't missunderstand me, I love China :-)

a very nice street shot, Andrew. I agree this is a bit different face of China, but so interesting. The architecture looks Europen. Ilke the 5 different signs on the right. Well done. Like this one a lot.

This is a really different view of China, that I didn't now. Except left road signs, you could tell us it's Brussels (many areas built in the fifties in the suburb look alike), I would believe it. Interesting.

Nice shot and most importantly nice note, very instructive... Thanks showing and teaching us!

very casual scene, there is not much going on there, but it is interesting to see such a street, I would never say it is in China, the buildings look not very chinese, it is clean and there is no chaoes on the street... interesting documentary picture
