Photographer’s Note
Standing near Grandpa - two. It is a warm day. Grandparents watch as parents work. The way of life in China. People must retire at 60 and thus the pace of the family life cycle sets the entrance of grandchildren such that grandparents are ready and home. People marry late and children are encouraged in the parent's 30's. Few do daycare and working parents often send young children away from the work-city to the smaller towns living with grandparents - many a great distance away.
