[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Chongwu wall was constructed in the 14th century to keep out Japanese pirates. Chongwu is a coastal town near Quanzhou which is north of Xiamen, in Fujian province. I was attracted to the simplicity of the sculptures. Usually, Chinese artifacts are ornate & gaudy. Not so here.

Japanese pirates wre long time a great fear of China it's was one of the reason of the construction of the Great Channel to can move goods ( North/South ) by boat without using the dangerous sea

Good subject, but that wall is such a nice backdrop, I think it would have improved the shot if you could have changed your PoV to have both the sculptures in front of it.

Clarify is here great Chris!
I like colours lights and contrast here too. very well composed with greneery on the left corner, two objects in the middle and great wall right up...
Very well done.
Regards, Don.

Another favorite of mine, three steps of perspective of objects as well as the colors. Such a wonderful composition.

The old stone wall looks very sharp. To leave one of the sculptures in front of the wall is a good idea thus it's seen better.

A very good job as always. Thanks for sharing...

Chris, really looking forward to see what you will do with digital equip. So far your film shots are fantastic.

Great work here, I like the sharpness of this picture, the wall and the stone sculptures are well placed and the greens make it colourful, well done

A very interesting place, maybe even a bit strange. The wall is very inteesting with the special patterrns of stones, especially on the tops, I never saw this kind of pattern. I also like the relative position of these two very different sculptures. Interesting shot, Chris.

Very good textures, contrast and colors. It certainly is a very clear shot. The patterns in the wall are really well seen here. All kind of mixtures of stone placement. It's well composed, also, getting down low enough to focus on the sculptures and the wall behind them. And the sky seems to go along with this shot to really focus on the man made and also to help enhance the greens. Greens always seem greener on a day like this.

Hi Chris!!
Fantastic atmosphere. Like the note and the natural colors.
