Photographer’s Note
This was taken in the region west of Chengdu in the area devastated by the earthquake in Sichuan last year.
They have and are doing an outstanding job in repairing the damage. The impact can still be seen with a lot of people having broken arms and legs.
We were approaching the region after a very long drive from Litang in Western Sichuan. The area had very steep mountains and deep valleys. It was in shadow except for this one area where a beam of sunlight shone on a small plateau between the mountain ranges.
