| It is New Year in China. Houses display wishes and the firecrackers are heard everywhere. I saw this young boy when his father was decorating their house, probably as his father before him at a small town called Ping yao in Shanxi province that became famous because director Zhang Yimo produced "Raise the red lanterns" within courtyards dating back to the Qing dinasty. |
