Photographer’s Note
Wutaishan is a good place for Shanxi food.
This picture was taken at the market of Taihuai, the village surrounded by the five terrace peaks which make up the sacred area of Wutaishan.
Because it is a place of pilgrimage, many local dishes are vegetarian. This man is selling (dried) mushrooms.

very interesting shot, Benny. I quite like the strog division in halves you've chosen for your composition, I find it suites the strong fertical lines the strings with mushrooms create (although mushrooms seem a bit over-sharpened). I also like the pastel colours, they certainly fit the theme of daily life. very well seen and presented.
best,
Kristine

hello, benny. i'm surprised this portrait has not gotten more attention here. i find it to be an amazing street shot with the mushroom "necklaces" forming nice color and texture game in the left part of your composition. the street seller seems all business as well and the costume is classic... well seen and presented.
