Photographer’s Note
This is one of the largest Buddhist statues in the Cloud Ridge Caves, 16km west of Datong. These caves contain over 50,000 statues and stretch along a 1km cliff side.
Well worth a visit, although Datong is essentially an industrial city so little time need be spent in the city itself.

Amazing, love the light, POV. The statues remind me of Terra Cotta. I've just watched the documentary of first China Emperor. Well done Pryd, thx 4 share.
