Photographer’s Note
This photo is of a lady standing next to a chair in the center of the alleyway. She was standing motionless and looking towards the street where I was standing. As I walked past the alley I saw her and had to do a double-take, because it was though I had seen a ghost. I made edits to the color, contrast and darkness to try and really give it that haunted feel.
The street is called, Shu Yuan Men (The Arts Street), located just through Xian's ancient city wall. It is a long, narrow slab-stone street lined with shops, tiny restaurants, doors leading up to small apartments, food and craft stands and various alleyways like this one.
