Terra Cotta Army - II Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is a view of the Terra Cotta Army, in this case what we see is Pitch one, the most impressive part, which had around 6000 warriors. This was just a part of the first Emperor of China's tomb, which is over 2000 years old.
These warriors are all different and most part of them are now being repaired, as they were found broken in pieces.
This army was found in the 70's, when some farmers were looking for water in this area.

Olá Anabela, este é um dos locais turísticos do mundo que já estou para visitar desde a minha ida à China - é um museu algo bizarro. Acho que é a 1ª vez que vejo uma perspectiva tão alargada, mostrando a enorme dimensão do espaço, incluindo o que deve ser uma estrutura metálica gigantesca no tecto, semelhante ao de um hangar de aviões. Esta percepção do todo é o que esta foto tem de original. Gosto de ver os visitantes que se destacam bem contra a parede branca.

Olá Ana,
É impressionante este lugar. Um exército que se levanta do túmulo. Incrível este detalhe de que cada estátua tem sua individualidade, não há repetição. A tua tomada causa impacto visual e cultural. Conseguiste ótima luminosidade. Também é interessante que os chineses permitam que o local seja fotografado... vemos vários fotógrafos lá do outro lado que, por sinal, dão uma ótima escala.

Dear Ana,
I believe that this is one of the most beautiful and important archaeological discoveries of the world. Last year, in Treviso, I have gone to see a show devoted to China, and there were 2 of the 6000 statues belonging to this army of terra cotta. I have been amazed by the quantity of details sculptured on the statues, and I have thought to how much exciting should be when you are before to a show what you show us in the photo. Your image is perfect, also considering that you have captured its inside a building. Very beautiful, compliment!

Suponho que esta era obrigatória para alguém que tivesse ido a Xian. Está muito bem exposta e a perspectiva escolhida dá uma ideia clara da dimensão avassaladora do local.

Hi Ana, I remember this place very well as if it was yesterday, the figures are an amazing sight & to think of the amount of warriors that were build, it is a wonder of the world to me, you have photographed them brilliantly as I know how difficult it can be here, thanks for bringing back some memories, kind regards Wilson.

Ana, this is something I always wanted to see, it must be even more awesome than the photos and videos show it to be. Your shot is great in that it shows some of the scope of the area, the building is huge, the people getting smaller along the wall scales it well. Fine color and detail as well, superb presentation.
