Photographer’s Note
In 1974, a Chinese farmer unearthed the world famous Terracotta Warriors. They have since been excavated, & are enclosed in an Olympic stadium sized building. This is Pit 1, which is gigantic. There are 3 pits altogether.
Pit 1 contains 6,000 terra cotta warriors
Pit 2 contains 1,400 tc soldiers, & 64 chariots
Pit 3 contains 68 warriors & 1 chariot.
Pit 4 is empty, & the emperor, Qin Shi Huang, died before its completion.

I cannot remember if the archers were in Pit 2, or 3?
Tripods are banned inside the complex, & this was shot using the viewing platform rail, as a support.

Hi Chris, A very good close up of these amazing ceramic figures. Well cropped as the diagonal lines make it dynamic. This shows what good condition they are in. I'd like to visit this site one day. TFS. Murray.

Hi Chris!
It's always great to see photos of this place. I like the composition, light and sharpness. I found this place really difficult because of light conditions, don't know if it was because of the weather on that day.

Great shot Chris! One thing that I see from this is that each of the warriers has a different face. I never realized that before, I thought they were all the same. This makes the army of statues even more interesting and amazing. Thanks for sharing this!
