Photographer’s Note

I liked the diagonal relation between the belltower & drumtower. No prizes for guessing which one is the belltower, lol. I thought about a fake blue sky, to mask the smog, but this is China as it really is.

The Muslim Quarter is reached through the arch of the drumtower, in the bg, at left.

Hi Chris. Nice photo. The reds really stand out in this shot, must be a favoured colour of the locals. ;-). Good detail and sharpness. Well composed and thanks for sharing.

Beautifully captured on this city with a fg interest on the belltower!
excellent exposure and focus in the shot with sharpness, original colour and details!

Hi Chris,
beside that diagonal line well supported by all those houses the red is amazing and eye catching but also the good sharpness with a lot of clear details up to the drumtower. A bit blue sky would add nice contrast, but only if this will be a natural sky.

Hi Chris,

Your right, only a blue sky when they deserve it. That means less pollution first.
Nice scene you choose with the detailed bell tower and the repetition of the facades with its typical Chinese elements.

Hi Chris!
It was a little different in winter, when I was there. I like this composition with the bell in foreground. I spite of the sky it has very nice colours. Blue skies are not so easy in China, at least it wasn't for me!

Hey Chris.

Great picture! I really like your point of view from here. I have a video of men ringing this bell! I also remember a great dumpling restaurant almost right in the middle of this picture. Ah, the memories you have brought back!
