Photographer’s Note

This is a photo of a show of traditional Chinese dances. This kind of shows is very popular in Xian, mainly those that recreate the glory of the Tang Dinasty (7th-10th century)a very important period in the Chinese history, when Xian was the capital. They are mainly made for tourists but this one was very good, one of the best shows I've seen in China.

Hi Ana,
The yellow light on these dancers is very striking. Your capture is a lovely insight into the culture of the Chinese people. I have seen these traditional dances a couple of times, but I'm afraid, like most Westeners, the full impact of the meaning of the dance has left me none the wiser. On the positive side, I love Chinese colours, the strong reds and yellows always make for an interesting look.

Nice view of this dance show, with golden light giving them the appearance of statues! Good central POV and framing.... it has a strong visual impact and looking like some Hindu gods, with many arms!

Ciao Ana,
Amazing effect of forms and colors, a true image of cromoterapia. This photo remembers me the Goddess Calì, an Indian divinity with four arms. Considering the 1/125 seconds, to enough brief time, you have done really an excellent job. You are very good, I put gladly you among my preferred photographers.

Olá Ana,
Escolheste um ângulo que vai muito bem com o gestual desta dança, a realçar a simetria e o efeito repetitivo, que nos conduz ao fundo, àquela figura em maior escala. Um ambiente de iluminação difícil para uma câmera, conseguiste controlar isto "à merveille".

Olá Anabela,
lindíssima foto com uma simetria ótima em um tema difícil no aspecto de luminosidade e, mesmo assim, conseguiste um resultado maravilhoso.
O sorriso das jovens é contagiante.
Gostei da projeção das luzes dos holofotes também.
Bom uso em ISO 400, já que acima disso a S9600 já produz algum ruído.

Olá Ana,
É uma imagem muito bonita, pelas cores, pela luz, pela graciosidade das bailarinas... Captaste muito bem o efeito cénico do espectáculo. É interessante a harmonia de braços e a semelhança entre a estátua ao fundo, reminiscente da mitologia hindu e as poses das dançarinas. A nitidez é tão boa, que um dos atractvos da foto é tb. poder apreciar os diferentes sorrisos das artistas.

A fine detour from your 'white pictures' of Portugal...difficult for me to choose which I critique. Spectacular scene here in very fine golden light. Timing is excellent as we see the extended arms of the dancers. From this POV, the dancer in the centre looks like having 14 arms. Good work!
