Photographer’s Note

Although I like taking pictures of landscapes more than people, I had to capture these kids. While all adults listened to explanations about the Summer Palace in Xian, these kids managed to have even more fun and getting themselves all wet before their parents could see them. I shot it in B/W because it was a gray day and the kid's expressions could tell a lot more than the colors.

Photography is all about capturing that special moment and you have certainly succeeded on that score. This photograph has unity.

But its the way that you have ordered the main elements here that makes this image command so much attention. And I also like the way that you have achieved balance in this picture, 2 boys, one dominant, the other subordinate.

It is however, just a little out of focus and would benefit with a little sharpening. See my workshop.
