Photographer’s Note
For centuries ferrymen pulled boats upriver along the Yangtze in China. Most of the stone paths lie now underwater as the Three Gorges Dam has rendered several hundred feet of water height drowning what remains. Here is a rare glimpse as the path winds into this cave. Perhaps deep within holds secrets. Often people are buried along the river as they seek peace from a long life. Within this cave may be a site for just that. The water will continue to rise and perhaps all of this cave will be hidden and the story of long ago along this great river will be lost.

hello David
This cave entrance has concrete climbing steps leading into it, so there must be something inside that the locals have access. Did you enter? It would be dark inside unless there is some opening above.
Interesting to see your travel photos and this one is quite a rare scene. The water level fluctuation appears from the stones to be around 3-4 feet upto the bottom edge of the opening.
A fine TE post.
