12.24 p.m. - As we were traveling back from the Shennong stream I saw this lonely house along the bank as if reluctant to give way to the impending relocation. The love of the land may be too strong that even progress finds it hard to persuade the owner to leave. It must have been quite high up the slope before but now that the water level had risen, it appeared just next to the river. But the occupant will soon have to leave as the water level will rise further by the end of the year.
In WS I am showing a shot of the new settlement (Xirangkou) just at the mouth of the tributary joining the Shennong stream to the Yangtze. Here you can see blocks of modern buildings and a new life for many of the inhabitants that have moved from their homes which are now under water.

Hello Aloysius,
A strong documentary of what is happening in the area!
I like the composition, with the house and the boat in the diagonal...
Lush green colours, a well composed image!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Aloysius.
Ottimo scorcio e bella foto.
Complimenti
Renzo

Been a long time :-), Aloysius,
I like the information there and the view to the forest inclused house.
The mood is nice, giving the impression of a very natural life.. May be a fisherman'house, as I read they are not so far from a big town and some relocation are occuring.. Well let us him live this way, he is just like these rich owners that have private villas with yatch boats on the "Costa Brava" :-))

Hi Aloysius,
Indeed the little house catches the eye and one wonders as to its owner's love with the land and the river. Superb clarity and sharpness here, with the little boat on the right providing balance. I might have cropped on the left to show off the house even more, but that is personal preference. Your WS shot is also most interesting. Well captured, my friend.

Hej Aloysius,
A nice view of this house. Its colour makes it stand out well surrounded by all the green. It is also placed well in the composition with also the boat more to the right. The many different tones of green are also enjoyable, well done!
Hilsen,
Lars

Hi Aloysius

Good shot of the river, with nice colour, & good symmetry between the house and sampan. I like the superb sharpness & reflections. Tfs!

Hi Aloysius,

Very well composition here, the river in foreground with the typical boat, but the small house between the green but on the mountain hill, this fantastic for looking, maybe something a few for life, a well composed image.

Regards,
John.

Hi Al,
I guess if I suddenly had waterfront property, I'd want to enjoy it as long as possible. I hope the boat tied up at the landing belonge to the owner of the boat. Your not adds real depth to to the lovely detail of your photo. HLJ, Pat

Hi Aloysius,
The contrast between the old and the new China must be very fascinating.
This picture and the workshop show that very well.
