Photographer’s Note
Daily life in Chong an is comfortably slow. People sit around, chat, eat or drink tea. The local market is a bit more busy (especially on Sunday), but still worlds apart from China's chaotic larger cities.
There's practically no young people here, we were told, as most of them go to larger cities to study or work. Therefore, the nights are even more quiet. Most people just sit in their houses or shops and play cards or mahjong.

Hi Henrik. a photo which gives us a chance to see life in smaller towns and as your note indicates, life in transition- for when the young leave there is only a limited lifespan to a place. I am currently reading Facory Girls- a book that looks at how Chinese village girls survive in the factory "cities" like Dongguan and Shenzhen.Regards. Klaudio.
