Photographer’s Note
As the Yangtze River Dam project continues, the writing on this wall may soon be under some water. At least half up from the bottom. Thus one may not see the writing on the wall. The letters are worn and even some of the best are now not able to read all the letters. These words are seen at the entrance of one of the three gorges while heading up river. The water was considerably lower before the Dam and these words would have been high in the rock cliffs and seen from some distance. (Between Yichang and Chongqing)

Hi Prof Thomas
This looks good, nice composition also because you capture whole scene here, river and mountain. I always amazing that how people make their home on top of the mountain and living, Really very difficult. Good shoot indeed.

Very impressive catch. The writing on the wall are so unique. I like very much this picture without sky where we feel at the bottom of a giant cliff. Great pictures in your gallery that i just discovered.
