Photographer’s Note
Carrying on up the Yangtze, the overcast sky is a little deceiving, where I was the sun was out & judging the light was difficult.

Hello Wilson,
Cheer, it was necessary to notice this perfect parallelism between the position of the bridge of the boat and the bridge. A very original and very symmetrical image. Cheer.
Have a nice day

Hi Wilson,
Superb use of the fence of the bridge for a very nice and original frame. The inclusion of the lifebuoys on both sides is fantastic too. In the background we see a very beautiful view along the river towards the boats and bridge and surrounded by impressively high cliffs. Very well captured and thanks for sharing!

Excellent framing of the bridge with the framework of the boat you were on. The symmetry with the life-belts on either side works very well. There's a few halos left from your PP (like my giraffe) but I imagine this was difficult to do and can be forgiven. Well done

Bonjour Wilson,
Une recherche originale et très graphique pour cette composition en navigant sur le Yangtzé.
La gestion de la lumière est toutefois réussie malgré l'absence du soleil qui aurait certainement apporté un plus à ce beau décor!

Hi Wilson,
I have stated many times before that you have a flair for excellent compositions and you capture such unusual images that even experienced photographers overlook. The composition is simply outstanding! If you were so inclined, you would make a great stained glass designer with your outstanding visual skills. I am impressed!

Bonjour Wilson,
le cadrage et le POV sont ici les points forts de la photo.
Des lumières un peu brumeuses, difficiles à maitriser dirait-on.
C'est original.
Un peu de géométrie dans un paysage fantastique.

Hi Murray,
You had a great trip in China. I like the view through the hole in the ramp leading our eyes towards the other boat, the bridge and the mountains. The cliffs on each side of the river are a natural frame to the photo. Well done, have a nice day.

Hello Wilson -
This is an excellent composition! It starts with the precise symmetry of the FG object and is carried into the BG with the canyon walls linked with the bridge. Further symmetry is carried into the BG with the two boats on the river. This is very impressive and insightful. Well done!
There are some post processing artifacts that are really noticeable along the FG railing that kind of diminish the overall affect of the image. This is such a good composition that I would rework the image and try to avoid the artifacts.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi, Wilson. an original framing with the boat and the bridge well palced inside the wrought iron frame. The two life buoys on either side of the frame make for a symmetrical composition. I think the light is not that good but I suppose you had some problem dealing with the backlight.

Hi, Wilson,
there are so many wonderful lines and shapes in this shot. The straight lines of the metal work, curved ones of the bouys, diagonals of the mountains. You chose an excellent view and the shot through the fence is brilliant. I like the off centered boat seen between the railings and even in difficult lighting conditions, you did a great job! This is excellent! Many thanks and warmest regards,

the composition is perfect and most effective, but your PP is to obvious and distractive. You should do the same with several layer techniques and would end up with this image a million times better.

Hi Wilson,
Your latest post aroused my curiosity about your trip to China. Looks like you've been there more than once and that you spent several days on the river. I can see that the lighting was difficult; however you use very effective framing techniques to give more depth to your shots. Of your Yangtze River shots, I like thbis one and the boatman best. Here, I find the shapes of the boat's guard-rail and the curving bridge semm very Oriental while the two spans emphasize the depth of the gorge. I also like the symmetry of the guardrail.
HLJ, Pat
