Photographer's Note
Just a corner of any street in Qiansimen quarter, Chongging.
Wai, the bang-bangman rests for a while after his arduous morning work in the market. His wife is a street shoe-cleaner, they moved with their young son from the country.
Does Wai ever regret coming to the city? "No, my life is a little better than it was when I first got here. Then, I only earned 10 yuan a day. This city is changing so fast. It is getting richer. But our lives are not keeping up. Cities are good for the rich. If you have money you can do anything. If you don't want to carry something, you just hire a bangbang man."

Hello Elaine. Your photo tells an interesting history. It is full information, nearly a social report. In the photo become the two worlds between poor and richly visible. Really impressing. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Love your title, love the scene. You do very well, Elaine when you take a step back and contemplate a scene, it's a gift. The man is looking at you and the boy, he wants attention!
Rich work, beyond mere documentation.
Cheers,
Francis

Hi Elaine, I have quite some liking for your Asian scenes. They portrait very well the situations and give a good overview of the atmosphere around, nice... Well framed with the posters... It would have been nice of the baby would have been a few steps behind, giving more depth... Do you speak Chinese Elaine ?
