Photographer’s Note
Fundu is one of these places along Yangtse river which have been destroyed systematically, to be flooded by the rising water levels of the Yangtse river dam. This photo was taken during the last week the river boats were still cruising at the original (low) water level during October 2002. I assume, what you see here is all under water now. I was amazed how well organized the moving and destruction was. No signs of anger or rush. Just people clearing shops and flats. Many secondary businesses related to transport or sales. I could also still enjoy a noodle soup here (improvised kitchen). I cannot read the Chinese signs on the transparencies, but my host told me they were containing information on what's going to happen. If anyone out there is willing to translate, I would appreciate! - [In the meantime I found the access to panoramas! Thanks for the help. I suggest you have a look at the LARGE VERSION, stitched from many individual shots.]

Interesting piece of history, thanks for sharing. Did you know that large panoramas have been supported by TE since November? See Adams post here.
P.S. Unless you join photosig all you can view is a thumbnail about 40px by 5px.

I'm really impressed, Cerdo. It is a very important posting in terms of the story that you're telling us, and I am amazed by the 360 degree panorama that is visible in your large version. Excellent amount of details, and nice colors. Very good job.

A very very good panorama photo, Cerdo, and an amazing story. This is a very imprtant work, recording the last days of a city life. Like the last days of Pompei.
I knew that story from reading but it is different when you see the buildings, the people, the faces. A very powerful result. A good photo is better than 1000 words.
Excellent job, Cerdo!

An important photo, Cerdo, and a very good work, the panorama version. A strange feeling looking to that place, that people, knowing that there's nothing else today as water...

Very interestig story Cerdo, really a picture to take good care of.
There is no problem with the big panoramas on TE,
choose GALLERY
then CATEGORIES
then VIEWS
and finally LARGE SIZED PANORAMAS and you will find several fine examples.
Take a look at my contribution from Oslo and you will under CREATE NEW DISCUSSSION in this pic find some additional tech. info.

I see now that you found out how to display the LARGE picture - and it is impressing. Well done!

Very strong atmosphere you've captured in this one. It's almost impossible to know what's going on before reading the note, but once you read the note, it's obvious they are all slowly moving out everything. Amazing and importante picture.
