Photographer's Note

In the mist and fog and smog of the coal ash rich air of Chongqing ... modern buildings tower above while facing boat bridges people us to ferry out to larger boats and docks along the Yangtze's path as the mighty river passes massive Chongqing city. The air is almost always like this.

I was a visiting Prof. at Chongqing University and my stay was always shrouded in smog ... not a star at night could be seen. I traveled twice along the Yangtze taking boats both ways (up and down) and enjoying the river very much. However along the river passing many miles there still remained this smog with only a few times, with better wind, did it clear.
