Photographer’s Note
This July I took this view of Mt Cheam during sunrise. The fog in the valley had rolled up againest the mountains and the valley had fog/mist spread across the valley. The suns angle is from the extreme left and behind a few mountains north of Mt Cheam. So the bright spot on top of Mt Cheam is sunlight. By following its angle you will see where the source is coming from. If you take a good look in the fog patch on the bottom of the photo you will see a row of trees and farm buildings scattered about. Carching this was a rare treat for me.
Up top the peak on the left is Mt Cheam and the smaller one is Lady Paek. There is a huge valley between the two peaks up[ there. My last 4 photos on Mt Cheam show this. It sure wold be amazing to catch a sunrise from up top of that peak. Enjoy and thanks for your comments. Paul

Hello Paul. Quite the striking shot Paul. This shot is all about the remarkable play of light. Is that lens flare? It looks like it to me but I'd be surprised if that much of a zoom would let that happen. Nice shot Paul.

Nice shot Paul. This landscape is pretty impressive. Mountains are such a good subject to photography. But what I espacially like is that row of trees all along the picture. The necklace of mountains? ;D Nice colors of the ground. Well, I guess it is again a great shot of yours!
I see that you used the 70-200mm. Little marvel! But I wonder, is that a lens flare?
Thank you for sharing!

Hi Paul,
Wonderful mood that you captured here with perfect exposure control.Beautiful play of light and shadow.Interesting effect in the upper part, the sunrays from the early morning sun makes the fog almost glow.A very crisp and clear image.
Have a nice sunday,

Lovely colours and composition. The foreground trees give the shot its scale. I had to search for the "lens flare" others are talking about, as I was looking for the typical small circles, but there is a big elipse shape almost as big as the mountain; whatever it is.

Hi Paul,
A very nice shot with the rays of the sun lighting up the mountains gradually. I like the way half of the frame is darkened and slowly lightening up as you go towards the left.
Nice shot

Wow, looks like a lake of melted copper in the valley. I love the ethereal light around the farm buildings.. it is dark, but the metal roofs reflect the bright morning above. Cheam looks like the god-protector.. very good shot. I saw the "lens flare" ellipse right away, but I don't think it detracts. I know I am supposed to SAY it detracts, because that is the standard thing to say about lens flare, but sorry, it just doesn't bother me.

Hi Paul,
I like here the dividing of the morning light in two areas separated by shade with their distinct colors, this effect is quite amazing and makes the photo interesting, the mountains shapes add a nice spectacular background.
Worth the early wake up !
Have a nice sunday,
Jean-Yves

Very good Paul! I like the misty effect around the mountains, and the treeline iluminated like that is good too.
Well done
