Photographer’s Note

This young lady preps a pot of hot water by burning palm leaves and scavenged wood. Behind her is a small roadside shop used for food that only locals would desire. The shop location is on the road between a distant temple and the main complex at Angkor near the tourist town of Seam Reap. This wood stove is a common mode for use here with the roadside vendors as I had passed up 4-5 others a short distance past. This lady was active with hers and had just added or pushed inward more wood. The water is at or near boiling. I liked her local dress and direct look. The image is not as clear as I would have liked. I also could have cropped out some of the busyness, but felt this added a little context to the scene.
