Photographer’s Note
My last shot from Cambodia, and the only one of an actual temple (well, there's so many here already). One of the advantages of coming here in the rainy season was the opportunity to get some intersting reflection shots in the floods that appear all over the place after a heavey night of rain, a small compensation for the lack of sunsets. It had just stopped when I took this shot, I arrived by bike with one hand on the handle bar, and one holding my umbrella, I wish I'd got someone to snap me like that.

Wow! You really put all that water to good use with some great reflections. It was a sdry as a bone when I was there. Your reward for the high humidity!

Interesting reflexions in the water mirror compensating the lack of saturated colours.

This is really a great shot Richard,
I like the reflection of the trees in the water, and behind that temple. There is a great atmosphere in the composition, I like it a lot. With my compliments

Very interesting POV, I have the feeling that I am looking to the temple protected behind bars. This feeling is especially due to the fact that the reflection of trees on the water.

Beautiful "courtain" you are showing us. Trees are a difficult motif to photograph but when they are used as an ornament or a frame there are good results. Here, you did even more than that, your photo is offering something spectacular and we seem to be in front of an stage with a "curtain" made of trees. Very nice done.

Well, in a situation where others might have said "darn those trees, I can't even get a decent shot of the temple", you just took things as they are and ended up with a supremely graphical result (on the thumbnail it looked like an iron grid on a window or something). Great use of reflections, and the light in the back really accentuates the hues of green well. Good capture, Richard.

Beautifully done, Richard! The trees and their reflections give the temple, lurking in the background, an added sense of mystery. I like the bright green of the grass which lifts the shot greatly. Nicely balanced shot too.

Fine PoV with the temple appearing between the trees as a pilgrim might discover it after a long journey. The reflections add much to the image though I probably would have cropped a bit tighter at the bottom. You did an excellent job Richard of making lemonade out of all the climactic lemons you found on this trip. I'd have loved to see an Englishman on a bicycle with umbrella and camera around his neck as well... too bad... ;-)

Hi Richard, yes that truly would be an interesting shot to see YOU making this photo. :-)
I once layed on a bench on my back trying some unusual angles to make a shot of a tree. So I lay there in the middle of a forest at 8 am and was quite relaxed because surely no one would come around. Well a jogger came along and looked a bit astonished seeing me there. I think we could start a club here with such situations and it would grow probably very fast in members.
I like the unusual POV here. Very well done. I think it would have been also an interesting composition to cut the whole top part containing the temple. So we only can see this temple in the water.
