History of Angkor Wat :-
Angkor Wat (or Angkor Vat) is a temple at Angkor, Cambodia, built for King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city. The largest and best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious centre — first Hindu, dedicated to Vishnu, then Buddhist — since its foundation. The temple is the epitome of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors.
Angkor Wat combines two basic plans of Khmer temple architecture: the temple mountain and the later galleried temples. It is designed to represent Mount Meru, home of the gods in Hindu mythology: within a moat and an outer wall 3.6 km (2.2 miles) long are three rectangular galleries, each raised above the next. At the centre of the temple stands a quincunx of towers. Unlike most Angkorian temples, Angkor Wat is oriented to the west; scholars are divided as to the significance of this. As well as for the grandeur and harmony of the architecture, the temple is admired for its extensive bas-reliefs and for the numerous devatas adorning its walls.

Hi Ally,
Belle compo avec le tronc d'arbre sur la droite, j'aime bien. Bonnes couleurs. Angkor devait être une cité vraiment exceptionnelle.
Bonne journée

These old stones from an old and marveloous civilisation are great here. The fore ground is well choosen, and the perspective in depth is good;
This is a nice composition.
I likke it

Hi Ally. I find interesting how these majestic temples were left to decay and forgotten in the jungle. The architecture is beautiful and at one time they were perhaps meeting points for cities. Good capture of this ruined building. The colours and sharpness are very nice here. Thanks Ally.

Ally,
very nice to show us the beauty of Angkor Wat in a slightly different way than the usual here at TE. I like this impression of old, destruction through nature, the feeling of isolation and lost in time although the sign leading the path is again a reminder of times of ordered tourism. Very good light balance that you achieved here.

I really like the composition...the way the fallen bricks are in the corner. Sort of symbolic to Cambodia's past. The architecture is beautiful. The lighting on the temple really makes it look like sacred ground. To think of all the hardships the people of this country had to endure under Pol Pot...this photo really spoke to me.

Ally bonjour.
C'est très beau cette lutte de la nature et de l'architecture malheureusement, c'est une lutte perdue d'avance si l'homme n'intervient pas une nouvelle fois. Il reste que cette photo est très belle et très émouvante.

High Ally!
Very good photo from this special place, I heard a lot about this temple. Actually, for sonething standing in a jungle since XII century it's not a bad shape at all.
Great photo!
