Kids near the train station in Phnom Penh.
Very lively and cheerful kids, when they saw me with the camera they were really happy. I was happy too - great background, plenty of kids...

you'll have to explain to me how you travel.. you seem to end up always in some unexpected places... deserted railway station, dumps, and so on...;-)) and i must admit it does wonders;-)) nice perspective here between the rails and the train. glad you cropped the front kid to add more impact...congrats again!

A Cambodian train yard!!!
It looks very interesting place for photographers to take shots of. And very interesting place for kids to play as well. Very well composed shot with interesting subject, beautiful light and tones.

Very sharp shot, considering that kids are usually active and in motion. I like the high horizon, leaving plenty of space for the kids and the train station. Great colors again with nice saturation and contrast.

In this one, I particularly like the dynamism of the composition, coming as well from the wide-angle lense as from the arm of the boy in the foreground.
Nice expressions on the facs of the children too.
Excellent shot, Maciek !

Charming natural pix, great details, grand posing of the kids in their playground.
Maybe shooting from a lower angle would have been even better - kind of not looking down at the kids..

Beautiful composition with this children.. Interesting and very colourfull.
Congratulations

Beautiful and very natural shot!
I like the natural color you've got here. Nice composition!

Very authentic catch, good build of the frame, the croppedkid with the finger adds a lot to the frame, very good composition and nice ballance.

What have you asked the children Maciej, that made them point to the background? It makes the composition actually rather interesting, two of the children pointing with their fingers. I also like how the pointing kid on the left is framed in the left lower corner. Good work!

Composition and perspective are great. Personnal tastes but I like wide angle better than telelenses.

A close relative told me the train to Sihanoukville was an experience but I'm now a bit disappointed she didn't also tell me PNH station was that interesting.
Next time if I come back, it'll be #1 on my spot list.

You have reasons to be happy, because the photo is very good!
As you've said, the kids and the backgroud match perfectly!
Great shot!

how do you always get the kids to stand still for a good shot? :)
always good to see happy kids, the abandoned station behind is a plus

cool :)

This is a very spontaneous shot. The train and the rails are very good elemnts to guide the eyes through the frame. I like this shot Maciek.

Subject matter is quite interesting. Not a scene we would see in our country (kids playing in a train station). I do find a couple of things annoying though, first the tilted train station but also it seems that a chunk of the head of the little boy in the middle has been cut out ? it gives the impression that he has been added there.
how come ? it would also be nice to know what they are pointing at ?
I'm not trying to be picky but these questions came out immediately when I opened the thumbnail and you know how it is, when some photographers have so many wonderful shots people seem to be afraid to point out flaws...

Hi Maciek. I am kind of mixed about this one. I love the left hand side of the photo in general, but there seems to be something missing on the right side of the frame. It seems like there is a whole diagonal line formed pointing from bottom left into the upper right, but other than the one little kid, there is just too much empty for me. Hmmmm, hard to explain. Just that you have sent my eye there and it is somehow a little unsettling that once pointed in that direction, I can't find anything to lock on to. Still, this shot has some very strong elements and is yet another look from you. I think your shooting is getting more complex, which is great. Good shot overall Maciek.

Very good composition, I like framing with this great depth of field, and the gesture of the children who says to us to look at over there.

Great composition Maciej, well done.

I kenw that Olli will like this trainyard, and I like it too. The ruined old car is interestin but of coarse, the maun thing isssssssss the kuds.
I always worried when I see children running on the rails, even if they're not active. Nice shot, Maciek.

Well composed.

This photo have a lot of photo-journalism feeling in it and I like it. As usual a great work on the colors and exposure. Good DOF too.

Besides that I like all the diagonals that cross the composition. Just seems a bit tilted to the left.

very good PJ shot Maciek. your story doesnt match your title. it seems they are pointing at a place rather than someone. its like you ask for an address and ther are trying to show you the way. i like the cropping in the bottom and the depth of the image that puts one right in the middle of the scene. good one.
